IceBattery® Launches India's First Net-Zero Rail & Land Cold Chain with CONCOR
IceBattery®, in collaboration with ITE Japan and CONCOR, launched India’s first Net-Zero Rail and Land Cold Chain Technology in New Delhi. This revolutionary diesel-free cooling platform, powered by advanced IceBattery Technology, aims to transform India's agricultural and pharmaceutical supply chains. It eliminates diesel dependency, reduces operational costs and carbon emissions, ensures temperature stability, and significantly cuts food wastage. This initiative marks a crucial step towards climate-resilient logistics and sustainable cold chain infrastructure in India.
Innovation Thru Energy (ITE) from Japan, alongside IceBattery India and strategic partner Container Corporation of India (CONCOR), unveiled India's pioneering Net-Zero Rail and Land Cold Chain Technology at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, on February 19, 2026. This launch, held on Japan Foundation Day, signifies a major advancement in transforming India's critical cold chain logistics, especially for agricultural and pharmaceutical sectors. The core of this initiative is the IceBattery® Zero Diesel Cooling Platform, which leverages advanced Japanese 'Monozukuri' technology. This system eliminates the need for continuous diesel refrigeration, leading to significant reductions in fuel consumption, operational costs, electricity demand, and carbon emissions. Proven in Japan with over 350 B2B customers and an 18-year zero-failure track record, the technology ensures uninterrupted temperature stability, even amidst transit delays or power disruptions—a critical solution for India's post-harvest spoilage challenges. The scalable ecosystem is designed for multimodal deployment, including Rail & Sea ISO 20ft/40ft containers, various refrigerated truck solutions, and stationary portable cold storage units. CONCOR's partnership will bolster energy-efficient refrigerated rail freight movement across India. Leaders like Tadamasa Ishida and Pankaj Garg highlighted the technology's potential to disrupt conventional refrigeration and set new global standards for sustainable logistics. This Indo-Japan collaboration exemplifies a blueprint for low-emission infrastructure, positioning India at the forefront of climate-resilient cold chain transformation through local manufacturing and rail-led distribution.
