India Strongly Condemns Attacks on Minorities in Bangladesh

India has strongly condemned the recent attacks on minority Hindus in Bangladesh, including the killing of a Hindu man. The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, called the incidents “worrisome” and stated that such violence cannot be ignored, expressing hope for justice. These remarks followed the lynching of Amrit Mondal in Rajbari amidst growing concerns over unremitting hostility against minority communities. India explicitly condemned the violence against Hindus and expressed a clear expectation that those responsible would be identified and punished.This robust reaction from India came after a series of disturbing events, including the recent lynching of another Hindu man in Bangladesh. The incident that specifically triggered India's strong statement reportedly took place on Wednesday in Pangsha upazila of Rajbari, located about 145 km west of Dhaka. In this case, a victim identified as Amrit Mondal, a Hindu man, was allegedly beaten to death by local residents after accusations of extortion. India's government has underscored the severity with which it views the safety and well-being of minority communities across its border and reiterated its firm expectation for decisive action against all those perpetrating or responsible for such violence, ensuring they are brought to justice.
