Ukrainian defense forces attacked the Tolyattikauchuk petrochemical plant in Tolyatti, Russia, on April 3-4, 2026, using approximately ten An-196 Liutyi strike drones. The assault targeted critical facilities, including workshops with liquefied products and isobutane-isobutylene production, igniting significant fires. This marks the second drone strike on Togliatti's chemical infrastructure within a month, following earlier attacks on the adjacent KuibyshevAzot plant. Tolyattikauchuk is a major producer of synthetic rubber, accounting for a quarter of the Russian market.

On the night of April 3-4, 2026, Ukrainian defense forces launched a drone attack on the Tolyattikauchuk petrochemical plant in Tolyatti, Samara region, Russia. The assault, reportedly carried out by approximately ten An-196 Liutyi strike drones, resulted in significant fires across several key locations within the plant's grounds. Specific targets included Workshop D-12, which houses tanks containing 2,300 cubic meters of liquefied products, and the isobutane-isobutylene production facility (BK-2, BK-3, BK-4), crucial for butyl rubber manufacturing. A third strike hit Workshop D-1, storing liquefied products and liquids, supplying isobutane for processing. The attack was reported by Astra and verified through photo and video analysis by the Cyberboroshno community. Togliattikauchuk is one of the region's largest plants, producing synthetic rubbers, hydrocarbon fractions, and gasoline additives, supplying about a quarter of the Russian synthetic rubber market. This incident is the second drone attack on chemical plants in Tolyatti within a month, with the nearby KuibyshevAzot plant having been targeted on March 30 and March 11. Observers suggest the actual consequences could be more severe due to the number of drones and limited personnel.
